Two Flood Disasters Strike Morocco and Indonesia as Regions Remain on High Alert

As flooding hit northern Morocco, authorities in El Ksar el Kebir have set up temporary camps to house displaced residents after injuries were reported in the city. Mohamed Simo, chairman of the municipal council, warned that the reservoir is receiving more water than it can hold and urged citizens to evacuate to higher ground immediately.

Local officials stated they have mobilized all available public infrastructure to prioritize accommodation for vulnerable groups, while acknowledging that the serious risk of rising water levels remains. The region is currently on high alert.

In Indonesia, at least nine people, including both tourists and local residents, have died in Bali following a landslide that left 82 missing. Indonesian authorities confirmed that heavy rains had previously been forecasted in the area.
