The Consulate General of the Russian Federation stated on July 20 that reports of poisoning incidents at the World Star Beach Resort & Spa in Antalya had not been confirmed.
According to media accounts, vacationers at the five-star hotel reported experiencing symptoms of poisoning. At least ten tourists were reportedly affected, including families with children. Guests also raised concerns about cockroach infestations, unclean dishes, and plumbing issues at the establishment.
The Russian diplomatic mission contacted relevant Turkish authorities, which confirmed that the information circulating in the media was unsubstantiated.
“There have been no complaints from Russian citizens to the Consulate General regarding poisoning incidents in Alanya,” a representative of the consulate said. “Diplomats will continue monitoring the situation and are prepared to provide consular assistance if necessary.”
Separately, on July 15, at least 25 guests at a hotel in Bodrum, Turkey, reported being taken to hospitals with symptoms of food poisoning. The incident occurred at a hotel in the Ortakent district. Some tourists sought medical attention independently, while others were hospitalized by hotel staff. Guests described experiencing nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain, with some attributing the condition to chicken served in the restaurant’s dining area. Authorities are conducting an investigation.
