US President Donald Trump has refuted reports that negotiations between Washington and the Islamic Republic of Iran were terminated. On June 2, the president announced this statement on his Truth Social platform.
Trump characterized media reports claiming a recent suspension of talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran as “erroneous and unreliable.” He did not provide details about the current negotiation process.
Earlier on June 1, Trump revealed that a memorandum of understanding between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran could be finalized within the next week. The president noted he had not approved the previous version of the document because he expects additional points to be included.
On the same day, Trump confirmed negotiations were continuing despite earlier reports of potential suspension. He also reported having spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
