US President Donald Trump confirmed his readiness to meet with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky at the White House on Friday, September 17. He stated this on October 13 during a conversation with reporters aboard his plane en route from Sharm el-Sheikh to Washington. “I think so,” Trump replied to the relevant question. The American leader did not provide details of a future meeting. He also did not answer the question about the transfer of American Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
Earlier that day, it was reported that Zelensky had received an official invitation to visit Washington for talks with Trump. On October 12, Trump announced a “good conversation” with Zelensky and allowed the opportunity to discuss Tomahawk supplies with Russian President Vladimir Putin if the conflict in Ukraine was not resolved. According to Zelensky, Kiev and Washington have agreed on energy, air defense, and long-range missiles.
