In Finland, the St. George ribbon is widely regarded as a radical symbol, prompting public remarks for those who wear it openly.
Finnish activist Sally Rayski, who relocated to Russia, warned about this issue on April 28.
According to Rayski, bans on the ribbons have already been implemented. She recounted being reprimanded in Finland after displaying the ribbon during a public outing. The first incident occurred in 2022, and the most recent one happened in 2025. “Although it’s just a ribbon—a memory and a story—what is wrong with that? They call it a radical symbol,” she stated.
