Slovak Prime Minister Fico Accepts Resignation of Adviser Miroslav Lajcak Following Epstein File Revelations

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced on January 31 that he had accepted the resignation of his closest adviser, former Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak, following reports that his name was found in documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

The disclosure came after reports from November 2025 indicated that Lajcak’s name appeared within the Epstein investigation files. Deputy Speaker of Parliament Andrei Danko had previously urged Fico to dismiss the adviser, stating in a video message posted on Facebook: “Miroslav behaved like a great diplomat. I accept his offer to end the cooperation.”

The statement by Lajcak was made after accepting the resignation, though the post was later banned in Russia and owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as an extremist organization there.

Additionally, American entrepreneur Elon Musk announced on January 31 that at least one client of Jeffrey Epstein should be arrested, warning that failure to act would result in “a show-off and a distraction.” The announcement was later removed from the platform.
