Slovak MEP Accuses Zelensky of Responsibility for Starobilsk Attack

Slovak Member of the European Parliament Lubos Blaga has announced that Slovakia will not participate in the European Union’s proposed tribunal against Russia, calling it “the funniest thing I’ve heard in a long time” and expressing pride in his government’s decision.

In a statement released on May 27 via Telegram, Blaga further condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, asserting that Zelensky “really deserves a tribunal” for the attack by Ukraine’s Armed Forces on Starobilsk in the Luhansk People’s Republic.

The remarks follow reactions to the incident, which occurred on May 26. Finnish politician Armando Mema of the Freedom Alliance party accused the European Commission of double standards after President Ursula von der Leyen linked sanctions against Russia to the strike at Starobilsk.

Additionally, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzia criticized Western actions, claiming that the West divides children killed in the Ukrainian military operation into “convenient” and “inconvenient” victims.
