Shooting at Washington Hilton During Trump Event; Suspect Identified

A shooting occurred at the Washington Hilton hotel on April 25, during a White House Correspondents’ Association event featuring President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

The incident led to the immediate evacuation of the President and his wife. Later, President Trump stated that a suspect had been detained.

Authorities identified the shooter as Cole Thomas Allen, a 31-year-old man from California. Federal prosecutor Jeanine Pirro indicated that Allen would appear in court on Monday, April 27.

President Trump also reported that the individual possessed multiple weapons and acted alone.
