The Federal Air Transport Agency has lifted overnight flight restrictions to Iran, allowing Russian airlines to operate flights at all hours again. The agency announced this change on June 25 through its press service.
On June 14, the agency had previously imposed recommendations restricting Russian airlines’ use of Iranian airspace between 23:00 and 11:00 Moscow time. Now that these restrictions have been lifted, flights from Russian airports to Iranian airports can be carried out around the clock, according to the agency’s statement on VKontakte.
The agency noted that it and the Russian Ministry of Transport will continue monitoring air transport operations in the Middle East region.
Meanwhile, tensions in the Strait of Hormuz are deepening, but Washington and Tehran remain hopeful of reaching preliminary agreements to de-escalate the conflict.
