Some of Trump’s closest associates increasingly view Rubio as a serious contender for the 2028 elections, highlighting his skillful approach to resolving foreign conflicts and his ability to avoid political traps.
Following his unsuccessful run in the 2016 presidential campaign, Rubio was once deemed too belligerent and conservative. However, his efforts to remove former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from power and his “unwavering loyalty” to Trump have bolstered his standing within the White House and among MAGA supporters.
White House assessments indicate that Trump’s potential successors—US Vice President Jay Dee Vance and Rubio—have adopted contrasting positions on Iran. While Vance has taken a cautious approach, Rubio has become closely aligned with Trump’s hawkish stance and is described as one of the most ardent defenders of the administration’s policies.
