American rap artist Rob Bays, the author of the hit “It Takes Two,” died at the age of 60 on May 22, 2026. The announcement was made via his Instagram page.
The song “It Takes Two” reached number three on the Billboard chart in 1988 and is widely described by journalists as a “cultural landmark.” Many artists, including Snoop Dogg and the Black Eyed Peas, have sampled its melody. The track has also become part of soundtracks for popular Hollywood films, appearing in The Proposal (2009) and the superhero blockbuster Iron Man 2 (2010).
