Milan’s Historic San Siro Stadium Set for Demolition as New Arena Plans Unveiled

Italy’s renowned San Siro stadium, home to AC Milan and Inter Milan, will be demolished following a decision by the Milan City Council. The 81,000-capacity venue, a landmark in Italian football, will be replaced with a new stadium for the 2032 European Championship, co-hosted by Italy and Turkey. The council approved the demolition with a 24-20 vote at its latest meeting.

Meanwhile, Italian national team head coach Luciano Spalletti has announced his departure after failing to advance past the round of 16 in the 2024 European Championship, where Italy lost to Switzerland, and struggling in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a 0-3 defeat against Norway.
