Kim Jong-un Inspects Elite 11th Army Corps, Showcases Military Might in Pyongyang

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited the command of the 11th Army Corps of the Korean People’s Army, an elite unit, on November 2. The Central Telegraphic Agency of Korea (KCNA) reported that during the visit, he toured the corps’ historical and revolutionary museum, met with military and political commanders, and observed special forces training.

Kim Jong-un praised the “high spiritual peace, mass heroism, and incomparable fighting spirit” of the corps’ soldiers, calling them a “model for our army.” He emphasized the need to strengthen the unit, improve combat readiness, and enhance ideological training, highlighting its organization, cohesion, and professionalism.

The visit followed earlier reports of Kim Jong-un meeting commanders who participated in battles for the Kursk region, where he commended their heroism. Meanwhile, Pyongyang showcased new military hardware during a parade, including mobile intercontinental and hypersonic missiles, tanks, self-propelled guns, and drones.
