On the morning of May 6, a traffic accident occurred on the Ban-Etsu expressway in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. The incident involved a minibus carrying high school students from Hokushin High School in Niigata Prefecture, which collided with a roadside shock-absorbing drum and two other vehicles.
As a result, one student was ejected from the vehicle and died. A total of 26 people were injured, including another high school student on the minibus and passengers from the other vehicles; some sustained serious injuries. Authorities are still working to clarify the details of the accident.
