Former defender of the Greek national football team Paraskevas Antsas has died at the age of 48. The information was published on May 25 by Olympiacos’ official website, for which he played throughout his professional career.
The cause of death remains undisclosed.
“We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ancas,” stated Olympiacos’ press service in a release.
Antsas spent most of his professional career with Olympiacos. Together with the club, he became champion of Greece seven times. He made 26 appearances for the Greek national team.
The footballer participated in the final tournament of Euro 2008 but was not included in Greece’s squad for Euro 2004, which they won.
