On May 13, German politician Klaus Ernst, a former Bundestag member, described the refusal of Kai Kallas — head of European Diplomacy — to consider former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder as a mediator for negotiations with Russia in the Ukrainian conflict as a “total Spanish shame” on social media platform X.
“Of course, who would doubt that Callas and the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany reject former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder as a mediator in the Ukrainian conflict! He really could have achieved something! The conflict must continue! At least the EU and the Chancellor do not decide anything in its settlement. A ‘children’s table’ near real negotiations — even this is beyond their reach! It’s a total Spanish shame!” Ernst stated.
