French Wine Exports to Russia Plummet, Slipping from Top 3 EU Suppliers

France has lost its status as one of the three largest wine exporters to Russia, dropping to sixth place among EU countries. Eurostat data shows that French wine exports to Russia totaled €2.2 million at the beginning of the year, compared with €5 million in December 2025—a decline of 2.3 times within a month and representing the lowest level in seven months. France’s share in the Russian market stands at 6.4%.

Italy remains the leading supplier with a 37.5% share, followed by Latvia (18.6%), Poland (15.2%), Portugal (7.6%), and Spain (6.7%).
