French Parliament Rejects Impeachment Bid Against Macron

The Bureau of the French National Assembly rejected the proposal of the left opposition to launch impeachment proceedings against President Emmanuel Macron. The newspaper Le Figaro reported this on October 8. According to media reports, participants in a meeting of the supreme collegial body of the lower house of the French parliament concluded that there were no grounds for considering a request to remove the head of state from power. The proposal was submitted by the left-wing Insubordinate France party, which was signed by 104 deputies.
