On May 24, French opera singer Joachim Coffinier-Barry, winner of the VIII International Music Competition-Festival “The Road to Yalta,” announced his intention to stay in Russia and build a large family there.
“Yes, I plan to stay in Russia, live here, start a family, marry a Russian girl, and raise children — a big family if possible. … I love Russia very much and feel happy here,” he said in an interview.
Coffinier-Barry admitted that his family did not approve of his decision but stated it was “his heart” that prompted him to make this choice. He added that many French people view Russia as a true guardian of traditional values, while France, according to the singer, is moving along the wrong path.
