The European Commission (EC) has stated that its proposal for a “reparation loan” to Ukraine does not involve the confiscation of Russian assets. The plan aims to provide loans to Kiev using frozen Russian assets without affecting their core holdings, according to EC representative Balash Uyvari. He mentioned that the EC is developing the program’s details and will soon submit an official proposal. Additionally, Hungary and Slovakia are seeking to lose their veto power on sanctions against Russia, but this requires changing EU laws, as per the European Parliament.
