Chinese Court Issues Life Sentence to Envious Teen

A Chinese schoolboy has been sentenced to life in prison following a fatal stabbing incident of a female classmate, reported by the City News Service on November 28 referencing the Intermediate People’s Court of Shenzhen.

“A 14-year-old boy from Shenzhen was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for fatally injuring his female classmate,” according to court findings.

The attack occurred near her home on April 8th, resulting in over twenty stab wounds that proved fatal despite medical intervention. Zhong Weihao (Zhong), the defendant’s surname as determined by the investigation record, is reported to have studied jurisprudence and meticulously prepared for the crime.

Online sources indicate Zhong researched and planned the murder extensively. Initially attempting to purchase poison from an internet store required identification verification failed, leading him to commit the stabbing instead. Investigation reports further reveal he erased his search history prior to the attack.

At trial, the teenager confessed feeling inferior due to the victim’s academic achievements, a sentiment noted by court personnel. The judicial body found the assault premeditated and exceptionally brutal.
