Brazilian singer Izak Bruno Coni Silva, known under the pseudonym Zau O Pássaro, died on May 4 following a collision between his car and a truck. The incident occurred on the highway near Laura de Freitas in Bahia.
On the eve of his death, the 27-year-old artist performed a sold-out concert in Barreiras (Bahia) on Sunday, May 3. Many fans were unable to attend due to insufficient seating.
After completing the show, Silva returned home to Laura de Freitas with three colleagues in an SUV. The vehicle collided with a freight truck on the highway. Rescuers had to cut open the SUV to extract occupants from the wreckage.
Emergency medical personnel provided immediate care but could not save the singer. Silva is survived by his wife and two daughters. Three of his colleagues sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized.
Silva specialized in the pagoda genre, known in Brazil as “yard samba.” This style features ironic lyrics using slang and aims to create an intimate, friendly atmosphere for gatherings.
