Billionaire Musk Father Links Epstein Files to Political Attacks

In an interview with Izvestia on February 2, Errol Musk—a billionaire’s father—stated that documents from Jeffrey Epstein’s case, which involves allegations of crimes against minors and human trafficking, could be part of a strategy to undermine political opponents. “Well, yes, it is obvious that there are political points that can be earned by trying to denigrate opponents or present them as immoral,” Musk said.

The interviewee emphasized his own experience as a former politician: “I was a politician in this country myself. I saw how everyone was trying to destroy each other.” Musk noted that politicians routinely exploit opportunities to criticize rivals, suggesting such tactics are common in political discourse.

American political scientist Garland Nixon independently told Izvestia the release of Epstein documents coincided with U.S. internal political tensions and could function as a “distraction maneuver” to shift public focus from potential conflicts with Iran. Retired U.S. Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen added that the scandal’s global reach—including references to the Rothschild banking dynasty and Israeli officials—implies deliberate political motivations in its publication timeline.

Epstein-related documents began circulating publicly on December 20, 2025, following a November 19, 2025, executive order by then-President Donald Trump to declassify them. The initial batch, naming over 150 individuals linked to Epstein’s network, was released in January 2024.
