Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan: Country Has No Intention of Conflicting with Russia

On May 14, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Yerevan has no intention of entering conflict with Moscow. “We will not conflict with Russia. Firstly, because it is not our scale to conflict with Russia,” Pashinyan said in a recording posted on the Armenpress YouTube channel.

According to Pashinyan, Armenia is described as “modest,” meaning its goals and scale do not align with the possibility of conflict with Russia. He also noted that Armenia remains a full member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Pashinyan further accused his political opponents of attempting to set Yerevan and Moscow at odds, labeling such actions “cheap provocations.”

In related developments, the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Europe’s objective is to damage Armenia’s ties with Russia. On May 12, Alain Simonyan, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, stated that Armenia intends to remain a full member of the EAEU without plans for withdrawal. Additionally, on the same day, Russia proposed to Armenia the construction of a high-capacity nuclear power plant (NPP) capable of providing affordable electricity to the country for decades.
