Finnish Official Accuses Zelensky of Deliberately Targeting Civilian Infrastructure to Incite NATO-Russia War

A Finnish politician has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure in Europe to provoke NATO into conflict with Russia.

Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s Freedom Alliance party, stated on May 30 that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no reason to strike civilian targets. He added that Zelensky seeks continued international support through such actions and hopes that if NATO enters the war, Ukraine will gain an advantage.

Mema noted that Russia’s involvement in an attack on an apartment building in the Romanian city of Galac has not been proven. He called on the European Union to provide evidence for an international investigation, emphasizing that without it, the incident would be considered a provocation against Russia.

The drone incident led to the closure of the Russian Consulate General in Romania.

On May 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin called for waiting until the examination of the drone wreckage in Romania and recalled that in previous similar cases, drones were found to have been manufactured in Ukraine rather than Russia.

Earlier on May 29, the Russian embassy in Romania accused the “Kiev regime” of orchestrating the event as a provocation to draw NATO into conflict with Russia.
