In Darling Harbour, Australia, nearly 90 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) crashed into the ocean during a public light show on May 27. The incident occurred as hundreds of drones performed synchronized flights.
Audience members witnessed several devices suddenly detaching from the system and falling into the water. Festival organizers confirmed that a total of 89 drones ended up in the sea following the crash.
The show was immediately canceled, with all subsequent performances suspended for several days to inspect and repair equipment.
