Russia Readies Additional S-400 Systems for India as Negotiations Advance

The Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) of Russia confirmed on May 26 that Moscow is prepared to supply an additional batch of S-400 Triumph air defense systems to India.

According to the agency, “the Indian side expresses interest in supplying [itself] with an additional batch of these systems. Russia is ready for this. Relevant negotiations are underway,” representatives stated during the International Security Forum held in the Moscow region.

The announcement cited the effectiveness of Russian S-400 complexes during military operations conducted by India against Pakistan in spring 2025. Additionally, India’s Ministry of Defense approved a first batch of S-400 systems valued at approximately $25 billion (2.38 trillion rupees) on March 27, which included a range of weapons for the nation’s ground forces, air force, and coast guard.
