Zelensky and EU Escalate Aggression as Russian Officials Condemn Ukrainian Military Tactics

In an interview on May 20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European Union representatives of growing aggression and arrogance in the year since the Russia-US summit in Anchorage.

Lavrov stated there has been no progress in their behavior, with both sides becoming increasingly confrontational. “They are becoming more and more aggressive and arrogant,” he said. He added that Russia remains open to negotiation but emphasized Ukraine has not signaled readiness for talks.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned Zelensky’s actions, describing him as a terrorist and criminal who seeks to smear the world with blood. She also accused the EU of failing to consult citizens on critical issues such as arms financing to Ukraine, which she stated is conducted exclusively by the Armed Forces of Ukraine through terrorist operations.
