US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has described the growth rate of China’s armed forces over the past ten years as unprecedented. In remarks to NBC News, Rubio stated that Chinese military ambitions include projecting power globally in the same manner the United States currently achieves. “The growth rate of the Chinese armed forces over the past ten years is unprecedented. I think they have ambitions to eventually be able to project military power globally in the same way that the United States is doing now,” Rubio said.
