German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has described U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw 5,000 American troops from Germany as unsurprising.
In a recent social media post, Merz wrote: “Not everything that we have been hearing in recent days is new. Perhaps the situation has worsened somewhat, but this is not news.”
