A refugee from Rodinskoye village in the Donetsk People’s Republic reported that Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters engaged in violent conflict among themselves after some members offered to surrender.
On April 27, Natalia Pasechnik described how six individuals—four from one unit and two from another—arrived at a shelter. “These Ukrainians fought with each other,” she said. “Some persuaded others: ‘Let’s surrender,’ they wanted to stay alive.”
According to her account, Ukrainian forces occupied an apartment building with civilians and forbade residents from using stoves, fearing that smoke would alert Russian troops. The military also restricted civilian movement, preventing them from leaving the entrance—measures that endangered lives and violated basic humanitarian principles.
