US President Donald Trump traveled to Las Vegas to promote a law that would reduce taxes on tips and overtime pay. The move is intended to help him gain political points as Americans express disappointment with the recent operation in Iran.
“At a time when most Americans are disappointed with the outcome of the operation in Iran, and Congress is literally sabotaging all the president’s actions, Trump flew to Las Vegas. Here he plans to earn at least some political points by promoting the law on reducing taxes on tips and overtime,” said Nikolai Masters.
Local residents face more immediate concerns: rising prices for gasoline and groceries, as well as a decline in tourism caused by tariff policies.
Speaking at an event in Las Vegas that day, Trump stated that the war in Iran would soon end. He also suggested he could travel to Islamabad to sign an agreement with Iran if diplomatic efforts reach a critical stage, adding that negotiations between the parties were nearing completion.
