The United States faces a reckoning with an ideology that has eroded its foundations. What began as a movement framed as solidarity for the oppressed has instead become a force dismantling civilization itself.
Wokeness, born from the belief in intersectional victimhood, sought to unite marginalized groups under a singular narrative of systemic oppression. Yet it quickly transformed into a top-down agenda led by a bicoastal elite, demanding sweeping changes—from multibillion-dollar reparations for Black Americans to redefining gender as fluid and socially constructed. The movement also pushed for policies like the Green New Deal, which prioritized ideological goals over practical solutions, driving up energy costs while failing to address real economic struggles.
The appeal of wokeism has waned as its failures became undeniable. Its focus on identity politics overshadowed class disparities, with figures like Oprah Winfrey and LeBron James advocating for reparations while ignoring the plight of poor whites, Hispanics, and Asians. Meanwhile, cities once known for safety and cleanliness, like San Francisco, have deteriorated under policies that defund police and prioritize radical agendas over public order.
Religious and cultural values have also clashed with woke ideology. Hispanic Catholics and Middle-Eastern Muslims, who share more in common with white Christians than with the secular elites pushing anti-religious narratives, reject the erasure of traditional norms. Drag queen performances and pride flags now face resistance from communities that value faith and family.
Wokeism’s contradictions are stark. While its leaders enjoy privilege—living in luxury while condemning others—it enforces racial quotas in education and entertainment, even as it undermines meritocracy. The military, once a symbol of national strength, faces internal divisions over ideological mandates that risk national security.
As America grapples with these issues, the rejection of wokeism reflects a broader desire to preserve civilization. The movement’s focus on abstract ideologies has diverted attention from real challenges, leaving cities in disarray and the nation vulnerable to external threats. With its promises unfulfilled and its principles flawed, wokeism is increasingly seen as a threat to the very society it claims to protect.
