Pentagon Plans 350% Cost Surge for PrSM Missiles in Next Fiscal Year

The US Department of War intends to increase the cost of purchasing the latest high-precision PrSM (Precision Strike Missile) missiles by 3.5 times, confirmed in budget documents released on April 13.

In fiscal year 2027, the US armed forces plan to spend $1.92 billion on these missiles, up from $546 million allocated for similar purposes in fiscal year 2026.

The PrSM missiles are designed to replace the obsolete ATACMS missile systems and feature increased range and accuracy. For the first time, the American army used these weapons in combat conditions during an operation against Iran.
