Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram messenger, has declared that the encryption function in WhatsApp — owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia — may turn out to be “the largest fraud in history,” having deceived billions of users. The statement was made by Durov on April 10 via his Telegram channel.
In a message published on his platform, Durov wrote: “WhatsApp encryption may turn out to be the biggest scam in history — it has deceived billions of users.”
