United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on March 31 that the United States will reconsider the value of NATO against the background of tensions with Iran.
“We will have to consider whether this alliance serves its purpose,” Rubio said in an interview. “It has turned into a one-way street where America is in the position of defending Europe, and when we need their help, they refuse us bases and flights through their airspace.”
