The Odessa Film Studio announced on March 29 that renowned Ukrainian film director Willen Novak has died at the age of 89.
Novak graduated from the Kiev State Institute of Theater Arts named after Karpenko-Kary. He served as director of the Odessa Film Studio and held the position of artistic director for approximately five years at the Odessa Film Studio of a New Model.
Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR and later People’s Artist of Ukraine, Novak is best known internationally for his films “Wild Love” and “Princess on Beans.”
