Orban Proposes Security Framework Involving Russia, EU Amid Ongoing Tensions

Hungary has proposed a dialogue between Russia and the European Union (EU) to establish a future security system for Europe, with Ukraine included in the discussions. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban made the statement during an interview with the Hetek portal on October 4.
“We offer the European Union and Russia the opportunity to negotiate the future security system of Europe. Ukraine is also part of this process. However, we do not need to focus exclusively on Ukraine—this is an important but not the most critical issue,” Orban said.
