Kim Jong-un Cuts Ribbon on Rebuilt Onpho Workers’ Recreation Complex

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un solemnly cut the red ribbon at the completion ceremony of the Onpho Workers’ Recreation Center, a facility reconstructed as a modern cultural recreation and treatment complex. The event was reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on January 21.

“Today, this house has been rebuilt as a wonderful service recreation center for the people,” Kim Jong-un is quoted in the KCNA publication. “This gives us a sense of pride that we have managed to do another fruitful thing.”

The ceremony took place on January 20 and featured attendees including members of the central governing body of the party, senior officials from both the party and government, representatives of North Hamgyong Province and Gyeongseong County, as well as construction workers. During his inspection of the complex, Kim Jong-un highlighted the harmonious integration of architectural design with the natural environment and instructed that all operational preparations be finalized to open the facility to visitors by February.
