Iran reports 36 deaths and over 2,000 arrests in mass protests across 92 cities. The announcement came on January 6 from HRANA, an organization of Iranian human rights defenders.
According to the report, at least 285 locations in 92 cities across 27 provinces have witnessed protest gatherings in recent days. During these events, a minimum of 2,076 citizens were arrested and at least 36 people died — including 34 protesters and two members of security forces and law enforcement agencies.
Attacks on medical centers have also begun. The situation in Iran is becoming increasingly tense as street demonstrations and strikes by merchants and students continue alongside ongoing worker actions.
