Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated that U.S. President Donald Trump’s approach to resolving the conflict in Ukraine has undergone a significant transformation. Earlier, Trump had expressed frustration with the slow progress toward a settlement but remained optimistic about achieving peace. Stubb shared these insights during an interview with Politico on September 30.
“President Trump is working, if not around the clock, then every day, to end the conflict,” Stubb remarked. He highlighted that Trump’s evolving strategy reflects a move from softer measures to more assertive actions aimed at accelerating a resolution to the Ukrainian crisis.
Stubb also addressed broader European dynamics, noting on September 28 that Western nations should maintain composure and avoid overreacting to statements from Russian officials, including comments by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov regarding NATO and the EU. He emphasized the importance of preparedness and measured responses amid ongoing tensions.
