North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee declared on May 30 that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Russian Federation share a unified stance on all strategic matters. Speaking at the opening ceremony for a memorial plaque honoring former Russian diplomatic mission head Alexander Matsegore at the Russian Embassy, she stated: “Today, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation share a common opinion on all strategic issues, which corresponds to the level of allied relations.”
The minister emphasized that both nations are advancing in comprehensive and bilateral engagements to enhance the welfare of their citizens.
Plans for interregional cooperation between Russia and North Korea include agricultural initiatives such as joint greenhouse projects in the Orel region and South Hwanghae Province, while Kursk region intends to rename streets in honor of Korean fighters.
On March 25, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent a telegram to Russian President Vladimir Putin affirming Pyongyang’s unwavering alignment with Moscow, describing this commitment as “the choice and unchanging will of his entire people.”
Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov announced on April 26 that long-term military cooperation agreements between Russia and the DPRK have been finalized, with the current year expected to feature extensive bilateral contacts across multiple sectors.
