Trump Administration Targets Historic $250 Bill Featuring Current President’s Image

The Trump administration has reportedly sought to create a commemorative $250 banknote bearing an image of the current president. This would mark the first time a living person appears on U.S. currency in more than 150 years.

Details reveal one design layout places the president’s portrait at the center alongside autographs of President Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant. The concept was developed by British artist Ian Alexander, who stated he personally discussed the design with Trump. According to Alexander, the president approved incorporating the colors of the American flag and a logo commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

A legislative bill enabling the placement of Trump’s image on a $250 bill has been under consideration by U.S. Congress since 2025 but remains unpassed.
