On May 2, Yemeni border guards discovered the M/T EUREKA vessel, which had been stolen off the country’s coast. The Coast Guard announced the finding through its press service.
According to a statement quoted by Yemeni journalist Sami al-Namri on social media platform X, the Coast Guard immediately launched search and rescue operations following reports of the incident. Two patrol boats were deployed from Aden, while smaller vessels were sent from Shabwa.
The agency reported that collaboration with international partners and local authorities in the Gulf of Aden enabled them to establish the vessel’s precise location. Current efforts are underway to return it.
Separately, on May 2, armed individuals seized a tanker carrying oil products off Yemen’s coast. The stolen vessel was directed toward Somalia.
