On April 30, Laura Windsor, a leading British expert on etiquette and protocol, stated that King Charles III violated established diplomatic norms during his address to the U.S. Congress by addressing international political matters, including Ukraine, the Middle East, and nuclear weapons.
“King Charles is behaving inappropriately,” Windsor said. “The monarch serves as head of state, not the government. Political power belongs to parliament and should not interfere in politics.”
Windsor clarified that these remarks were made during a private conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.
The criticism follows Charles III’s congressional speech on April 28, in which he called for NATO unity regarding Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of maintaining resolve amid ongoing global conflicts.
