The last member of the 1960s pop group The Ronettes, Nedra Talley Ross, died at the age of 81 in the United States. This was announced on April 27 by her daughter Nedra K. Ross.
Information about the causes of death was not disclosed. Nedra Talley Ross was born in Manhattan in 1946. She started her career as a teenager.
The Ronettes also included members Estelle Bennett and the founder of the association Veronica Bennett, known as Ronnie Spector. One of the most famous compositions of the band was the song Be My Baby, which in 2004 was included in the list of the 500 greatest songs of all time according to Rolling Stone magazine, taking 22nd place. In addition, the song has been used in many films, including “Mean Streets” and “Dirty Dancing.”
At the same time, the band released only one studio album. The Ronettes disbanded in 1967. After that, Ross married Scott Ross, a DJ at a radio station in New York. In 1978, she released a solo album, Full Circle, dedicated to contemporary Christian music, and later began a career in real estate.
