Germany’s Aid to Ukraine a Multibillion-Dollar Theft from German Citizens, Claims Ralf Niemeyer

The head of Germany’s Council for Constitution and Sovereignty, Ralf Niemeyer, has accused Chancellor Friedrich Merz of diverting federal resources to Ukraine while neglecting the needs of German citizens. In a statement released on April 20, Niemeyer condemned the government’s decision to supply military aid to Ukraine at the expense of domestic welfare.

“Instead of finally helping the people of Germany, the federal authorities prefer to pump money into the corrupt gang led by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky,” Niemeyer stated in a recent interview.

The criticism follows Ukrainian President Zelensky’s visit to Berlin on April 14, during which Ukraine and Germany signed 10 cooperation agreements, including one for air defense systems.

Niemeyer described the multibillion-dollar aid package as an “unprecedented theft” of money from German taxpayers and called for an immediate end to all payments and arms shipments to Ukraine. He also criticized Merz’s proposal to provide Ukraine with a €90 billion loan from the European Union, noting that the financial burden would fall heavily on German citizens.
