The wealth of Russia’s richest entrepreneurs has increased by $7.666 billion since the beginning of this year, according to data released on April 1 by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) rating agency.
The total net worth of Russian billionaires now stands at $298.97 billion, with the BBI index encompassing 20 individuals from Russia. The rankings are calculated based on share prices of companies in which these individuals hold stakes.
Elon Musk remains the world’s wealthiest individual, with his fortune surging by $24.2 billion since January and reaching $644 billion. Larry Page, co-founder of Google, holds second place but has seen a $21.9 billion decline in wealth this year. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose net worth fell by $23.3 billion, now ranks third globally.
The BBI previously reported that Russia’s top businessmen collectively gained $19.392 billion in January alone. Vladimir Potanin, president of Norilsk Nickel, added $3.46 billion to his wealth since the start of the year, elevating his net worth to $29.9 billion. Andrey Melnichenko, co-founder of Eurochem and SUEK, also recorded a $2.83 billion increase, bringing his total to $21.8 billion.
