On April 1, the United Arab Emirates government reported that its air defense systems intercepted a drone whose wreckage fell in a district of the Fujairah emirate. The incident resulted in one fatality: a Bangladeshi citizen who could not be saved.
UAE authorities confirmed the victim’s nationality and the severity of the outcome. Since the commencement of Iran’s attacks on the UAE, air defense systems have neutralized 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,627 drones. On March 16 alone, these systems intercepted six ballistic missiles and 21 drones launched from Iranian sources.
An attack struck the port of Fujairah on March 16, with damage currently under assessment. This port serves as the UAE’s sole outlet bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.
