On March 29, during a speech in St. Peter’s Square on Catholic Palm Sunday, Pope Leo XIV delivered a stark condemnation of war leaders.
The Pontiff stated that God does not hear the prayers of those who wage armed conflict, quoting Jesus as saying: “No matter how much you pray, I will not hear you: your hands are covered in blood.”
Leo XIV emphasized that invoking Christ to justify any form of warfare is unacceptable.
